Sportsmanship
DJ treated teammates, coaches, officials, and opponents with kindness and respect. Whether his team won or lost, he encouraged those around him and recognized great plays by teammates and competitors.
Sportsmanship. Effort. Attitude.
Honoring a courageous player, an outstanding teammate, and a legacy that continues to inspire MTBSA.
The DJ Farrar Tournament was established in memory of DJ Farrar, whose courage, character, and love of baseball left a lasting impact on the Montgomery Township Baseball & Softball Association.
DJ participated in both our recreational and travel baseball programs from T-ball through AAA. He was a talented player, an outstanding teammate, and a young man who exemplified the values that define our organization. Following a courageous two-year battle with brain cancer, DJ passed away on January 15, 2003, at the age of 13.
Today, this tournament serves as a celebration of DJ's legacy and the qualities he demonstrated every day, both on and off the field.

DJ treated teammates, coaches, officials, and opponents with kindness and respect. Whether his team won or lost, he encouraged those around him and recognized great plays by teammates and competitors.
No one loved baseball more than DJ. He was always eager to practice, improve, and compete. Even while battling cancer, DJ continued to play, support his teammates, and contribute in any way he could.
DJ faced every challenge with incredible courage and optimism. His resilience, selflessness, and love for the game continue to inspire generations of MTBSA players.
Honoring DJ's Legacy
The DJ Farrar Tournament celebrates the values DJ lived every day: sportsmanship, effort, and attitude. Each year, players are encouraged to compete with integrity, work hard, support their teammates, and appreciate the opportunity to play the game they love.
We are proud to honor DJ's legacy and thank the Farrar family for allowing us to continue sharing his story with future generations of MTBSA players.
The DJ Farrar Tournament Skills Competition takes place on Wednesday evening and is one of the highlights of tournament week. Every participant receives an official DJ Farrar Tournament T-shirt and is invited to take part.
